Due to severe flooding and erosion, the roadway between North Sound and Valley on the island of Virgin Gorda is currently in a hazardous condition. The public and motorists are advised to avoid this area until further notice.

The Ministry of Communications and Works is fully aware of the unexpected and severe flooding that has occurred across the Virgin Islands territory today. Heavy rainfall has led to widespread flash flooding in various parts of the islands, causing significant disruptions to traffic and infrastructure, as well as impacting homes and businesses.
The public is advised that a portion of James Walter Francis Drive in the vicinity of Port Purcell to the Sugar Works Museum on Station Avenue will be temporarily interrupted on Saturday, May 4 from 7:00 p.m. to Sunday, May 5 at 2:00 a.m.
The public is notified that traffic along the Great Mountain Road, within the vicinity of Shabazz Smoothie, will be interrupted on May 4 and 5, 2024 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The public is notified that traffic along the western end of Cane Garden Bay will be interrupted on April 23 and 24 between 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. daily for road maintenance works.
The public is notified that the Little Dix Road in the vicinity East End Police Station to the East End/Long Look Community Center will be closed to traffic on Tuesday April 9 at 6:00 p.m.to Friday April 12at 6:00 a.m.
The public is notified that the traffic flow along the Blackburn Highway in the vicinity of the port at Port Purcell to Long Swamp Pump Station in the vicinity of the East End Police Station, will be interrupted on April, 9 to 12 during the hours of 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

The public is notified that Lee Road from Buck’s Food Market to the Rupert Vanterpool Sr. Festival Village at the Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour Boat Yard will be temporarily closed on Monday, April 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Government of the Virgin Islands, through the Ministry of Communications and Works is enhancing the road infrastructure in Cane Garden Bay to address existing issues and elevate the quality of transportation in the area.
The public is advised that traffic on a portion of Administration Drive will be temporarily interrupted from 6:00 p.m. today Tuesday, March 26 to 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27. to facilitate the paving of the roadway.
