Greetings public officers, ladies and gentlemen I address you now, at this point in our Territory’s recovery with a hopeful attitude to speak on plans for the transformation of the Public Service.

Public Officers, ladies and gentlemen, you recently received communication from the Deputy Governor about an exciting opportunity we have to shape the future of the Public Service.  Allow me a few minutes of your time to briefly speak to you about this opportunity and why your input into the future of the Public Service is critical at this time.

Permanent Under-Secretary (PUS) and the most senior Public Servant in the Foreign & Commonwealth Office Sir Simon McDonald will visit the British Virgin Islands as part of a brief tour of the region from Thursday, February 16 to Saturday, February 18.  

Senior Liaison Officer to the Governor Mr. David Archer, Jr., has been appointed Deputy Governor.

The staff at the Facilities Management Unit were recognised for their hard work and commitment at the unit’s first Annual Staff Appreciation Dinner.

I was saddened to learn of the passing of The Honourable Omar Wallace Hodge who served his beloved BVI for over thirty (30) years, six (6) of which he served as Minister for Natural Resources and Labour.

Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE will be away from the Territory from Saturday, December 23 until Saturday, December 30 on personal leave.
