The public is advised that the Office of the Governor will be closed from 12 noon today, Friday, April 13 for maintenance purposes.

It is with much sadness that I recall the fact that Mr. Elton Georges, CMG, OBE was the first Complaints Commissioner (Ombudsman) of the Virgin Islands, having single-handedly set up the office in February 2009 . 

Public officers are invited to join the Public Service Mass Choir to render selections at the funeral service for former Deputy Governor, Mr. Elton Georges, CMG, OBE.

Newly appointed Deputy Governor Mr. David D. Archer, Jr. has been appointed as Deputy to Governor until Friday, April 13.  Mr. Archer most recently served as Acting Governor from March 29 to April 2.

Last evening, I was saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Elton Georges, CMG, OBE, a man of great strength, courage and conviction who I have had the pleasure of knowing for many decades as he dedicated his entire life to Public Service.

On Tuesday, 27^th March, 2018, the Deputy Governor Mr. David D. Archer, Jr and former Deputy Governors Mrs. Dancia Penn-Sallah, OBE, QC and Mrs. Rosalie Adams visited former Deputy Governor Mr. Elton Georges at Peebles Hospital where he is currently resident managing a medical condition.

His Excellency the Governor Augustus J.U. Jaspert is featured as he visited Guana Island, Scrub Island and Marina Cay ....
