The official birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will be celebrated in the Territory with a grand parade on Saturday, June 9.

The public is notified that the Office of the Supreme Court will have limited services on Friday April 27 to allow the staff to attend the funeral service of former Bailiff, Marvin Hendrickson.

The Government of the Virgin Islands has received seven new heavy equipment vehicles in addition to six pickup trucks from the Department for International Development (DFID), United Kingdom (UK).

The late Elton Georges, CMG, OBE, who passed away on April 4, will be honoured with an official funeral.

The Public Service Mass choir will hold their first practice on Monday, April 16 at the Christian Faith Assembly, (downstairs Happy Lion Restaurant) beginning promptly at 5:00 p.m.

The public is advised that the Office of the Governor will be closed from 12 noon today, Friday, April 13 for maintenance purposes.

It is with much sadness that I recall the fact that Mr. Elton Georges, CMG, OBE was the first Complaints Commissioner (Ombudsman) of the Virgin Islands, having single-handedly set up the office in February 2009 . 

Public officers are invited to join the Public Service Mass Choir to render selections at the funeral service for former Deputy Governor, Mr. Elton Georges, CMG, OBE.

Newly appointed Deputy Governor Mr. David D. Archer, Jr. has been appointed as Deputy to Governor until Friday, April 13.  Mr. Archer most recently served as Acting Governor from March 29 to April 2.
