The Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture in partnership with UniteBVI Foundation and Cable and Wireless Charitable Foundation is inviting the public to the Official Handover Ceremony for Building I of the Bregado Flax Educational Centre (BFEC) in Virgin Gorda.

Seniors from Carrot Bay, Sea Cow’s Bay, East End/Long Look, Anegada, Jost Van Dyke, Road Town, and Virgin Gorda are featured as they fellowshipped recently at a luncheon on Virgin Gorda.

Residents of Anegada, Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke are invited to attend community preparedness meetings with His Excellency the Governor Augustus J.U. Jaspert and officers from the Department of Disaster Management (DDM).

Residents in Virgin Gorda will once again have a functional sporting facility to host basketball and other recreational sports.

Mr. Speaker, imagine having to brave the waters and travel on a regular basis to Tortola from Virgin Gorda, stand in a long bank line to have transactions done, and sometimes return home without being successful.

The public is notified that the offices of the Department of Motor Vehicles’ (DMV) on Virgin Gorda will be closed on Thursday, April 18.  Services will resume on Tuesday, April 23 at 9:00 a.m.

Minister for Natural Resources, Labour and Immigration and Representative for the Ninth District Honourable Vincent Wheatley visited the Bregado Flax Educational Centre Secondary Division on Friday, March 15 for its Honour Roll prize giving ceremony.

The public is advised that the office of the Labour Department on Virgin Gorda will be temporarily closed to the public on Friday, February 15.
