Residents of the Valley on Virgin Gorda, are notified that the water supply will be interrupted tonight from 9:00 p.m. until Thursday, October 19 at 5:00 a.m.

The public is advised that the Jost Van Dyke’s town hall meeting on “Granting Residence and Belonger Status is now scheduled for 19th October, at the Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m.

The water scarcity that the Valley, Virgin Gorda, has been experiencing is attributed to three main culprits: The inadequate production of water, the inadequacy of the distribution system and Sargassum Seaweed infiltration.

The Ministry of Communications and Works was advised that the Sargassum Seaweed at Handsome Bay inhibited the operation of the water production of the Desalination Plant. In turn, the distribution of water was disrupted to customers in the Valley, Virgin Gorda.

Director of the Water and Sewage Department Mr. Brian Davis said his department has addressed the situation on Virgin Gorda where residents were encountering a foul odor emanating from their taps.

The public is notified that the Tortola branch of the Department of Motor Vehicles will open to serve the public at 12 noon on Monday July 24 while its Virgin Gorda branch will remain closed for duration of the day.

The BVI Airports Authority (the Authority) is notifying the travelling public that the airports on Virgin Gorda and Anegada respectively have resumed normal operations.

The public is notified that the Virgin Gorda branch of the Department of the Motor Vehicles (DMV) is operating on limited working hours for the remainder of the week to facilitate its move back to the Vanterpool Administration Building.

Persons who were granted approval for Crown Lands in the Bond subdivision development on Virgin Gorda are notified that the collection of the required one-time fee payment is currently on hold until further notice.
