The Government is partnering with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to assist Micro, Small and Medium sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in the food services sector including restaurants, cafés and food vans.

The public is reminded to thoroughly prepare foods this holiday season.

The public is advised to purchase all foods from safe sources this holiday season. Inspect foods for safe temperature, colour, odour, texture and packaging.  Also, arrange for foods to be delivered at times when they can be inspected.

British Virgin Islands Environmental Health Division officials are advising consumers not to eat romaine lettuce or products containing romaine lettuce from Salinas, California USA.

New and renewing food handlers are notified of the schedule of sessions that will take place on the following dates:

New and renewing food handlers on Virgin Gorda will be held on May 22 at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College Campus at 10:00 a.m.

A total of 596 food handlers’ certificates have been issued so far this year, as the Environmental Health Division continues to assist food businesses in achieving required food safety standards.

New and renewing food handlers clinic will be held on Virgin Gorda tomorrow May 15 at 10:00 a.m. the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College Campus.

Please be advised that the following dates have been scheduled for food handlers’ sessions for the month of May 2019 on Tortola and Virgin Gorda. 

New and renewing food handlers on Anegada are notified that clinics will be held on April 24 at the library at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
