The Ministry of Health and Social Development is notifying the public that there is a surge in Ciguatera fish poisoning (CFP) within the last three weeks.
The public is notified that the food safety quiz for persons who took the Food Safety classes on the 14 and 21 January, 2021 will re-open from 10:00 a.m. on the 26th January, 2021 to 10:00 a.m. on the 27th January 2021.
The Government of the Virgin Islands is accepting applications from food service businesses in the Territory for the joint grant programme with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The Government is partnering with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to assist Micro, Small and Medium sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in the food services sector including restaurants, cafés and food vans.
The public is advised to purchase all foods from safe sources this holiday season. Inspect foods for safe temperature, colour, odour, texture and packaging. Also, arrange for foods to be delivered at times when they can be inspected.
British Virgin Islands Environmental Health Division officials are advising consumers not to eat romaine lettuce or products containing romaine lettuce from Salinas, California USA.
