Residents of the Virgin Islands are invited to the opening ceremony to observe World Food Day on Saturday, October 16 at 9:00 a.m. at the Sir Olva Georges’ Plaza in Road Town. Scheduled activities include remarks from the Minister for Education and Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture Dr. Honourable Natalio Wheatley; singing, poetry, and live musical entertainment. Local produce from farmers and fishers will be on sale.

World Food Day is being observed under the theme “Our actions are our future – better production, better nutrition, a better environment and a better life.”
