Her Majesty’s Customs is advising the public that effective today, Tuesday, November 22, the operating hours at the Port Purcell port of entry will be extended from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. until the end of the year.
Effective today, all trader declarations will be completed and submitted online through the Customs Automated Processing System (CAPS) as Her Majesty’s Customs moves towards full automation.
Officers from Her Majesty’s Customs K-9 Unit along with officers from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force are currently taking part in the 14th annual K-9 Recertification Seminar.
All persons are being asked to register with Her Majesty’s Customs to obtain a trader identification number, or to gain CAPS access as Customs stations in the Territory will no longer be accepting manual or paper trader declarations from Tuesday, November 1.
Her Majesty’s Customs is advising the public that effective October 17, all annual commercial vessel licences and temporary vessel importation licences must only be processed at the Road Town Customs station located at Waterfront Drive.
Her Majesty’s Customs Department is doing its part to reform its licencing processes to provide an effective one-stop licencing destination to all its stakeholders.

Over twenty registered traders and importers from Virgin Gorda are now aware of the Customs Automated Processing Systems (CAPS), following a trader declaration orientation held last Thursday September 15.
In an effort to enhance ‘guest experience’ and safeguard the yachting and tourism industries, Her Majesty’s Customs Department is doing its part to protect the borders of the Virgin Islands.
All importers, brokers, and agents of the Virgin Gorda community are notified that Her Majesty’s Customs will hold a Customs Automated Processing Systems (CAPS) trader declaration orientation on the sister island on Thursday, September 15.
