Fahie has delivered the Territory’s 2022 Budget Address under the theme: “Strategically positioning New Industries with Sustainability and Innovation: Continuing to improve the standard of living with focus on Education, Small Business, Healthcare and Technology”.
Deputy Governor, Mr. David Archer, Jr will act in the Office of Governor from November 13 to 22 in the absence of His Excellency the Governor, Mr. John J. Rankin, CMG who will be out of the Territory on business.

Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Andrew A. Fahie is away from the Virgin Islands from today attending the annual Overseas Territories (OT) Joint Ministerial Council (JMC) in the United Kingdom (UK), which will be the first JMC in-person meeting since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Premier of the Virgin Islands Honourable Andrew A. Fahie laid a wreath at the UK’s Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph in London’s Whitehall, on Sunday, 14 November.
Minister for Natural Resources, Labour and Immigration, Honourable Vincent Wheatley has said that the Government of the Virgin Islands will be upscaling the mangrove nursery to a mangrove bank as it seeks to benefit from and participate in the blue carbon market.

The Financial Services Institute at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) will be renamed the HLSCC Robert Mathavious Institute of Financial Services in honour of financial services stalwart, Dr. Robert Mathavious, OBE.

Fahie said that 32.73 percent of the development budget has been allocated to the Ministry of Transportation, Works and Utilities as Government focusses on major construction projects to stimulate economic activity and create jobs during this COVID-19 period.
