Safe Haven Transitional Centre

The Staff and residents of the Safe Haven Transitional Centre will be collaborating with Caribbean Insurers Limited for the upcoming Charity Run/Walk.

Safe Haven Transitional Centre representative Neville George said the collaboration is for a greater cause and that the staff and residents are grateful to assist.

Ms. George said, “That is why we are asking for the community’s support and we are asking for persons to come out and run and if they cannot run, then they can walk for a greater cause to ensure that our children have a place to learn.”

 The Charity Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, May 19 at 5:30 a.m. Registration fee for adults is $10 and $5 for children ages 16 and under.

 The activity will begin from the Queen Elizabeth II Park to the Port Purcell Roundabout and back to the park. Prizes will be presented to the most creative group, the winning team, the winning family, and the overall winner. There will be family orientated activities and bouncy castle. The event’s sponsors include Holy Cross Hospital and the HIV/AIDS Foundation.

The walk/run activity is a part of Mental Health Awareness Month observed under the theme, “Whole Body Mental Health - Fit the Future”. The Safe Haven Transitional Centre launched Mental Health Awareness Month with an information stall in Road Town on May 11.
