Yacht charter vacations shine among bevy of land and sea travel deals
The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board is encouraging travelers to “ride the wave” into warmer weather and sunshine with the launch of Summer Sails, a new promotion spotlighting the destination’s yachting sector. The BVI’s 60 idyllic islands are full of adventure, culture and natural beauty that are sure to make your summer getaway memorable.
For a short time only, guests can take advantage of discounts on a minimum seven-day sailing charter, or a five-day or seven-day stay on land (depending on the property). With options such as sailing, diving, snorkeling, fishing or day charters, the summer season is the perfect time to enjoy the BVI’s pristine beaches and sparkling waters.
Visitors using the promotion will also receive VIP clearance upon arrival, including a greeter and expedited Customs and Immigration processes, which means more time to get out and explore.
Act fast! The Summer Sails promotion is limited to 100 bookings, and the deals are now available using code BVISS18. The offers are valid for travel between June 15 and August 15. Visit www.bvisummersails.com for more information.
A sailing vacation is a luxurious, relaxing option for any visitor, and the BVI’s yachting sector currently has more than 1,800 boats and cabins available. Landside accommodations are more limited (with about 565 rooms available), but the Tourist Board is thrilled to have several resort partners participating in Summer Sails as well.
Plus, the Tourist Board is offering participants a coupon book of “Heavenly Deals.” These can be redeemed at restaurants, bars and other local businesses, which will each have their own value-added deals.
Whether you’re a solo adventurer chasing some of the best waves in the Caribbean, or you’re escaping for a romantic couple’s getaway or looking for a family-friendly destination with activities for all, the BVI offers a piece of paradise for every type of traveler.
Visitors this summer can also experience an exciting lineup of events that truly showcase the spirit of the territory, such as Summer Sizzle (July 25-30) and the BVI Emancipation Festival (July 27-August 10).
The full list of charters and properties participating in Summer Sails can be found at www.bvisummersails.com. Prospective travelers will also find information here on a special 10% discount offered by Seaborne Airlines, one of several airlines that offers ease of access to the BVI. New deals will be added to the site weekly. Note that Summer Sails vacations are commissionable to travel agents.

About the British Virgin Islands
Known as a treasured destination, rich in undiscovered experiences, the British Virgin Islands (BVI) is an alluring archipelago comprised of 60 islands and cays located 80 kilometers (60 miles) east of Puerto Rico, in the northwestern region of the Caribbean Sea. The main islands of Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada and Jost Van Dyke have attracted travelers globally with its cultural Caribbean authenticity. Located in Tortola, Road Town is the British Virgin Islands’ capital.
Recently ranked #1 Best Place to Visit in the Caribbean for 2017-2018 by U.S. News, the BVI is where nature’s best secrets are kept with an abundance of pristine beaches, azure seas, towering sage mountains and burnt-orange sunsets. It’s no wonder the BVI’s Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke were featured on the “Top Islands in the Caribbean, Bermuda and the Bahamas” list in Travel + Leisure World's Best Awards 2017.
Despite its status as a United Kingdom territory, the BVI uses the U.S. dollar as its official currency.
The BVI Tourist Board invites everyone to experience the tropical mystique of the country’s unparalleled and enriching offerings. For more information about the BVI, visit www.bvitourism.com
