The British Virgin Islands (BVI) will be represented at the 2015 Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) annual conference to be held in New Orleans, Louisiana from the April 26 to April 29.

Her Majesty’s Customs Department is inviting importers, traders, brokers and agents to register for training and orientation in CAPS Web Trader Entry online submission.

Training will be conducted in the Department of Information Technology’s Computer Room located in the Rita Frett Georges Building on Tortola from April 20 to 24.

The Trade and Consumer Affairs Department is inviting persons to nominate a business that has shown outstanding service delivery and products, as nominations are now being accepted for the May Business of the Month.

Business of the Month officially launched on March 3, 2015 under the theme: “Fueling the Entrepreneurial Spirit" is led by the Department of Trade and Consumer Affairs on behalf of the Government of the Virgin Islands. 

The Department of Trade and Consumer Affairs is asking the public to tune in to JTV channel 55 at 7:30 p.m. this evening to view a promotional programme which features the Business of the Month for the month of March.

 Last month’s winner was F&M Halal Outlet which is owned by Mr. Musa Muhammad who operates a poultry farm in Paraquita Bay. Tonight’s programme will highlight the different aspects of his business as well as give an inside view of a successful local entrepreneur.

The Government of the Virgin Islands, through Trade and Consumer Affairs Department is inviting the public, especially owners of small and medium sized businesses to a business presentation on Tuesday, March 31, at the H Lavity Stoutt Community College Marine Center at 10:00 a.m.

Five locally owned and operated businesses have been sponsored by the Department of Trade and Consumer Affairs to participate in the 2015 Buy BVI Trade Expo. 

The Department of Trade and Consumer Affairs is advising the public that the cashier system has been reinstated and is now able to process Trade Licenses.
