The A. O. Shirley Recreation Ground is a top priority in the recovery of the Territory as it is the premier location for sports training and competitions, namely track and field, soccer and rugby.
Dr. the Honourable Natalio Wheatley, on his first official visit to the UK, held successful discussions with key officials from the Economic Youth and Sustainable Development Directorate of the Commonwealth Secretariat in London on November 20.

Minister for Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture, Dr. the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley said the Territory has established itself as one of the leaders in the world with Gold medalist Chantel Malone’s leap in the 2019 Pan Am Games.

As I speak, our top level BVI athletes are in Doha, Qatar, to compete in the 2019 International Association of Athletic Federation’s World Championships. Our athletes are having a stellar athletic season, and we send them all our support as they again GO FOR THE GOLD!
