Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Dr. Natalio Wheatley, Minister of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports Honourable Sharie de Castro and other sporting officials are featured with President of World Athletics Lord Sebastian Coe. Lord Coe paid a courtesy call to the Virgin Islands to view first-hand the progress of works done since the hurricanes of 2017. He also held meetings with representatives from the BVI Athletic Association and viewed ongoing works at the A O Shirley Grounds.
Mr. Kyron McMaster is the Territory’s newest recipient of an OBE from His Majesty The King for his contributions to sport in the British Virgin Islands.
I greet you today with a sense of deep purpose and urgency as we approach an important event in our calendar—Anti-Bullying Week 2023. This week holds immense significance, not only for our educational institutions but for our entire community.

Madam Speaker, I am delighted to address this Honourable House today regarding the visit of our innovative and dedicated team to the prestigious FIRST Global Robotics Challenge, which was held in Singapore from October 7th – 10, 2023. Our team’s participation in this event holds great significance, as this was our territory’s first opportunity to participate in a global competition that advances the technology of Robotics.

Director for the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Mrs. Brenda Lettsome-Tye has said that the department will be hosting a Youth Business Expo to highlight youth entrepreneurs in the Territory.

The BVI Under 23 Female Volleyball Team are featured as they returned to the Territory today after winning a Bronze medal in the recent E2023 Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Championships.
