Minister for Education, Youth Affairs and Sports Honourable Sharie de Castro, President of the BVI Athletic Association Mr. Steve Augustine and President of the BVI Olympic Committee Mr. Ephraim Penn are featured with President of World Athletes Lord Sebastian Coe on Friday January 12 as they visited the A.O Shirley Recreational Grounds. Lord Coe who was in the Virgin Islands viewing progress on sporting facilities following the hurricanes of 2017. He also spoke with athletes about his athletic career and provided answers in relation to the difficulties and motivational drivers that kept him going during his Olympic appearances. Honourable de Castro also reinforced the Government of the Virgin Islands’ commitment to fostering and supporting VI athletes to compete and succeed globally.
