Minister for Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture, Dr. the Honourable Natalio Wheatley is reiterating the importance of developing a love for reading as the Territory gears up to observe ‘Reading is Fun Week’ from October 10 to 16.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture, Dr. the Honourable Natalio Wheatley has said that reading and critical analysis play an important role in preparing the Territory’s students to face the future.
Secretary General of the BVI National Commission for the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO), Dr. Allison Flax-Archer, is encouraging persons to continue yearning for knowledge and joy; and reading she said is simply one avenue of doing this.

Education Officer in the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture, Mrs. Janice George-Harris said this year's goal for Reading Is Fun Week is to foster a love for the process by engaging the Territory in several activities.

The public is notified that Reading is Fun Week will be observed from October 6 to 12 under the theme, “Read -Unlock Your Imagination and Expand Your Horizon”.
Secretary General of the BVI National Commission for UNESCO, Dr. Allison Flax-Archer is encouraging students to continue reading even in times of disaster.
