The public is notified that Reading is Fun Week will be observed from October 10 to 16 under the theme, “Reading Transforms”. 

Minister for Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture, Dr. the Honourable Natalio Wheatley is reiterating the importance of developing a love for reading as the Territory gears up to observe ‘Reading is Fun Week’ from October 10 to 16.

The public is notified that Reading is Fun Week will be observed from October 11 to 17 under the theme, “Read Empower”.  The schedule of activities for the week is as follows:

Any person who puts a book in the hands of a young child, is a person who is confident that the child will change the future.  “To read is to empower, to empower is to write, to write is to influence, to influence is to change, to change is to live.” –unknown

Deputy Premier and Minister for Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture, Dr. the Honourable Natalio Wheatley has said that reading and critical analysis play an important role in preparing the Territory’s students to face the future.

Secretary General of the BVI National Commission for the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO), Dr. Allison Flax-Archer, is encouraging persons to continue yearning for knowledge and joy; and reading she said is simply one avenue of doing this.

The public is reminded that Reading is Fun Week continues under the theme, "Read - Unlock Your Imagination and Expand Your Horizon".  

Education Officer in the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture, Mrs. Janice George-Harris said this year's goal for Reading Is Fun Week is to foster a love for the process by engaging the Territory in several activities.

The public is notified that Reading is Fun Week will be observed from October 6 to 12 under the theme, “Read -Unlock Your Imagination and Expand Your Horizon”. 

Secretary General of the BVI National Commission for UNESCO, Dr. Allison Flax-Archer is encouraging students to continue reading even in times of disaster.
