Premier of the Virgin Islands, Dr. the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley has affirmed that, “Reform itself remains a top priority of his administration”, in a public statement regarding key issues on government reform.

The Honourable Kye M. Rymer is the Deputy Premier and Minister for Communications and  Works under the National Unity Government of the Virgin Islands.

Good afternoon. 

I am very proud to stand before you today, now officially appointed Premier of the Virgin Islands. 

Family members and supporters gathered to witness His Excellency the Governor John Rankin, CMG, administer oaths of office to Cabinet ministers under a new Unity Government at Government House Thursday evening.

The public is notified that the office of the Department of Town and Country Planning will be closed on Friday May 13 to facilitate a Strategic Planning day. Persons may reach the department at telephone number 468-2158.

In the past few days there has been a cascade of uneasy events that have rocked the Virgin Islands and its people. Nonetheless, we must remain resilient and steadfast on our journey. As an elected official, I stand on the principle of country above self, and as such, I have agreed with the decision to cede my post of Minister for Natural Resources, Labour and Immigration to facilitate the continuance of Government. This procedure will be completed once all the legal requirements are followed, and as such, the Constitution of the Virgin Islands would remain intact.
