Premier Honourable Dr. Natalio Wheatley is imploring residents of the Virgin Islands to contemplate and honour the efforts of those who have contributed to a more prosperous and functional contemporary society.

Acting in accordance with Section 5 of the Public Holidays Act (Cap 199), as amended, Cabinet has approved the following public holidays for 2024:

A pleasant good day to all the people of the Virgin Islands.

Today, we are commemorating Heroes and Fore Parents Day and the 80th Anniversary of Secondary Education in the Virgin Islands, and we are also remembering and recognizing the contributions of 38 of our stalwart educators who are over 80 years old.

Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Dr. Natalio D. Wheatley said that the upcoming Heroes and Foreparents Day will be significant in recognising the outstanding contributions of Virgin Islanders, in shaping their unique history and identity.

The public is reminded of the upcoming public holidays in August.
