In an effort to strengthen the development of occupational health and safety in the Territory, an Occupation Health and Safety Subcommittee was established under the Virgin Islands National Health and Wellness Advisory Council.
As efforts continue to reduce the impact of Zika within the Territory, boat owners are being asked to secure their vessels by either turning them over or cover them with tarpaulin to reduce mosquito breeding.
Public Officers received vital instruction in ergonomics when the Health and Safety Unit of the Human Resources Department facilitated in-house training sessions in collaboration with Therapy Works.

Owners and staff of food establishments in the Territory are building capacity in food safety management and best practices through a three-day “Certified ServSafe Food Safety Training and Certification Workshop.”
Registration is open to owners of food establishments and persons working in the Territory’s food service industry to participate in a three-day ServSafe Food Safety Manager Certification Training workshop.
The Territory has joined the world in promoting World Alzheimer's Month in an effort to raise awareness and challenge stigma associated with the disease.

Owners of food establishments and persons working in the Territory’s food service industry are invited to participate in a three-day ServSafe Food Safety Manager Certification Training workshop.
The Ministry of Health and Social Development and its partners are inviting all residents to “fight the bite” and join clean-up groups to eliminate mosquito breeding sites to reduce the Territory’s vulnerability to the Zika virus and other mosquito borne diseases.
