The public is advised that due to the rise in recent fraudlent activity, effective Februrary 1, the Civil Registry and Passport Office will no longer accept translations for foreign documents prepared by non-certified agencies or individuals. 

The public is asked to note that due to the high demand for British Virgin Islands (BVI) Visas, the Civil Registry & Passport Office has reverted to the usual turnaround time of ten (10) working days.  

Twenty persons were registered as British Citizens at a ceremony at Government House on Thursday, November 1.

Residents of Virgin Gorda are notified that the Civil Registry and Passport Office location in the Vanterpool Administration Building is in full operation.

Madame Speaker, there has been a lot of buzz in the Territory over the last few days about my Government’s decision through the Cabinet of the Virgin Islands to grant to nationals of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), access to enter and remain in the Virgin Islands as tourists or for business related matters, without the need for a visa.

Nationals of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) have been granted access to enter and remain in the Virgin Islands for business and tourism related matters only, for a period of less than six months without the need for a visa.

Twenty-one persons are now British citizens after having been previously naturalised as British Overseas Territories citizens.

The public is notified that the Civil Registry and Passport Office will be changing its services to the public effective April 1.

It is an absolute honour for me and a great pleasure, as your Governor, and as her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II representative in the Virgin Islands to have given you your Certificates of Registration as British Citizens.
