All employers operating on the Festival Grounds during the upcoming VI Emancipation Festival are reminded that they are to apply for and obtain a work permit for any non-Belonger/non-BVIslander they may wish to employ.
The public is reminded to review the checklist when submitting work permit applications to the Department of Labour and Workforce Development. Persons are also asked to submit all the required documents that are stated on the list.

The public is notified that the offices of the Department of Labour and Workforce Development on Tortola and Virgin Gorda will close at 12:00 noon on Friday, July 1.
All work permit applicants who previously uploaded documents through the Online Work Permit System, are asked to submit outstanding documentation to the Department of Labour and Workforce Development as soon as possible to complete the application process.
An Online Work Permit Processing Task Force is now in place to assist the Department of Labour and Workforce Development with the processing of the backlog of work permit applications.
Through our stakeholders’ meeting and other formal and informal meetings, the Government has listened to the cries of the employers, the employees, particularly work permit holders, along with the staff at the Department of Labour and Workforce Development and listeners may recall the meeting with stakeholders on the 10th of February.
