Mr. Speaker, I wish to update this Honourable House on certain developments as regards to publicly accessible registers of beneficial ownership.

A pleasant good day and God’s Blessings to all Virgin Islanders and residents.  First let me thank our residents of the Virgin Islands for cooperating with the measures put in place due to this current curfew order.

Mr. Speaker, I would like to bring to this Honourable House's attention, that earlier today the Caribbean lost one of its great former leaders.

Mister Speaker while there are many ongoing projects within the Ministry of Transportation, Works and Utilities, today I will like to highlight an issue of great concern of mine; Mister Speaker that is the huge outstanding bill that I met at the Ministry.

Minister for Natural Resources, Labour and Immigration Honourable Vincent Wheatley has stated that his ministry is working diligently to create and implement the framework necessary for key aspects of the Territory’s resources to be protected and sustainably managed.

Mister Speaker, the Government of the Virgin Islands continually monitors the evolution and progression of the COVID-19 pandemic as infections spread with increasing veracity in our region of the world. We remain committed to keeping the public engaged and informed, and I am grateful for this opportunity to present yet another progress report on the Territory’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr Speaker, thank you for facilitating me to deliver this brief statement.  Your 16-month-old Government and its various agencies and departments continue to work tirelessly to look after the interest of the people of the Virgin Islands.

Mr Speaker, I rise to pay tribute and say thanks to one of this Territory’s most brilliant professionals, who has dedicated his lifetime to public service, and who has held some of the highest offices in this country, performing with distinction.
