The Ministry of Health and Social Development is charting the way towards improved health outcomes for people living with diabetes with the launch of care guidelines.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development will be launching the Caribbean Public Health Agency’s ‘Guidelines for the Management of Diabetes in Primary Care’ on Thursday July 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the lobby of the Dr. D. Orlando Smith hospital.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development is leading the way to standardise the care and treatment of persons with diabetes through the launch of guidelines for the management of the disease.

Chief of Drugs and Pharmaceutical Services, Mrs. Gracia Wheatley-Smith has said her office is equipped with skills in signal detection and drug safety as part of ongoing efforts to enhance pharmacovigilance locally.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development will be hosting a seminar on Lupus to strengthen the capacity to identify, diagnose, treat and care for persons with the disease.
