The Premier and Minister of Finance of the British Virgin Islands Honourable Andrew A. Fahie has today said that the good tax cooperation between the British Virgin Islands and France has been overlooked in the French Government's decision to include the jurisdiction, among others newly added, to its list of non-cooperative states and territories in tax matters.
The 2020 Law Year of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (ECSC) will commence for the first time at the start of a calendar year, on Monday, January 13.
Mr. Rhodni Skelton, Deputy Director of the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board and Film Commission (BVITB&FC), has been appointed to act as Director of Tourism during the absence of the Director of the Tourism, Mrs. Sharon Flax Brutus. Mrs. Flax Brutus is currently on vacation leave and returns to office in the latter half of February 2020.

Representatives from the Canadian Bank Note Company’s Project Team will be installing the first phase of the Border Management and Electronic Visa System next week.
In another historic move, Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Andrew A. Fahie, in consultation with the Governor and Chairman, Mr. Augustus J. U. Jaspert, has decided that the first meeting of the Cabinet of the Virgin Islands for 2020 be held on the Sister Island of Jost Van Dyke this Wednesday, January 8.

Minister for Transportation Works and Utilities, Honourable Kye Rymer has said that the implementation of the Park and Ride initiative launched during the holiday season was beneficial and will become a permanent service.
The Government of the Virgin Islands in collaboration with the Caribbean Telecommunications Union is conducting a series of stakeholders meetings to review the e-Government suite of legislation.

The National Parks Trust of the Virgin Islands has been recognised for its work preserving and managing 21 National Parks and improving their quality of life.
Mr. Peter Haycraft and Mr. Stacy Roger Mather made the Queen Elizabeth II 2020 Diplomatic Service and Overseas List for their service and contribution towards the development of the Virgin Islands.
