Environmental Officer of the Conservation and Fisheries Department, Mrs. Cynara Benjamin-Duncan, said that the department is once again trying to increase awareness of eco-friendly habits by encouraging persons to wear green and “be greener.”

Healthy Living To Be Introduced In Schools Curriculum

Students in the Virgin Islands are to benefit from a programme that promotes the adoption of healthy lifestyle behaviours as the Government embarks on a Healthy Schools Intervention Programme.

The Ministry of Education and Culture is collaborating with the Ministry of Health and Social Development to introduce this programme into the primary schools curriculum during the 2015-2016 school year beginning with Grades 2 and 3.

Cellular Companies Add Texting To Early Warning System In BVI

Text messaging is now officially part of the Early Warning System in the British Virgin Islands.

Representatives from all three cellular companies operating in the BVI, today inked agreements that will facilitate the use of their respective Short Message Service (SMS) platforms to deliver emergency messages to their customer database.
