Members of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force now have a refurbished police barracks on the sister island of Virgin Gorda, a project that was led by the Deputy Governor’s Office and implemented by the Recovery and Development Agency.
The Government of the Virgin Islands will be holding a series of community meetings as it seeks the public’s feedback on the recently drafted Beach Use Policy.

The L-Shaped Building of the Elmore Stoutt High School slated to be officially opened on Friday, September 6 will be renamed after veteran educator Ms. Lillian Adorothy Turnbull.

The Virgin Islands’ Ministry of Health and Social Development has issued a travel advisory to countries such as São Paulo, Brazil; Israel, Philippines and the Ukraine.
Mr. Gerard St. Clair Farara QC has been appointed to act as the Commercial Court Judge of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court and is assigned to the Territory of the Virgin Islands from the period September 1 to October 13.

Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Andrew A. Fahie has urged educators who were engaged in a week long summer institute, to sharpen their skill as their roles play a big part in the economy of the Virgin Islands.
The Department of Disaster Management is advising the Virgin Islands community that Governor Augustus Jaspert, after consultation with the Premier and the Director of the National Emergency Operations Centre, is satisfied that the current weather conditions are no longer a threat to the Territory. He is therefore de-activating the NEOC.
The public is advised that while Hurricane Dorian has passed, the region is still in the peak of the Atlantic Hurricane Season. Residents and visitors should maintain a high level of awareness of approaching systems and remain prepared.
