Residents of Valley, Virgin Gorda are notified that a schedule for water service has been reinstated due to a break in the pumping main at the Handsome Bay water plant.

Madam Speaker, two days after Hurricane Irma struck the British Virgin Islands, the Ministry of Communications and Works engaged its Special Projects Unit to implement emergency protocols for the Water and Sewerage Department. 

Residents are asked to follow safety measures to ensure water quality and minimise the risk of illnesses.

The public is informed that utility services are likely to be disconnected during a hurricane.

As we are in the peak of the Atlantic Hurricane Season and continue to observe and experience tropical wave activity, members of the public are encouraged to store drinking water and water for sanitation. 

The public is asked to telephone the following hotlines to report damages caused by the Tropical Wave on August 7.
