The Virgin Islands Shipping Registry (VISR) has embarked upon a maritime safety educational campaign to sensitise the Virgin Islands community on its responsibilities and functions within the Territory.

Twenty local persons received further insight on employment opportunities available in the maritime industry following a presentation by Virgin Islands Shipping Registry and SVITZER Americas.

Marine vessel operators, particularly those who operate small crafts and dinghies are reminded of the importance of proper boating and marine safety practices.

Mariners, ship and, yacht owners and those interested in maritime affairs are invited to a meeting to discuss the Maritime Labour Convention 2006 on Thursday, July 16.

The Government of the Virgin Islands is informing the public that effective Monday, June 1, the Virgin Islands Shipping Registry office has re-located to the third floor of the Cutlass Building on Wickhams Cay 1 in Road Town.
