This day marks the unconditional surrender by Nazi Germany in WWII bringing the end of the war in Europe. These events happened a long time ago, and many miles away. But it is important that we pause to remember and give thanks to the sacrifices of so many that allow us to have the freedoms and the liberty that we take for granted today.
