The public is being notified that the Virgin Islands School of Technical Studies and the Alexandrina Maduro Primary School closed early today Thursday, September 14 due to a power outage in the vicinity.

Minister for Education, Youth Affairs and Sports, Honourable Sharie B. de Castro has said the new school year is a continuation of an incredible journey of moving Virgin Islands Education: Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead.
Madam Speaker, the development of our children and young people is of utmost importance to the continued development of the Territory. Thus, I am pleased to highlight the reintroduction of Summer Camps in July 2023 through the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports. A total of three separate camps were offered: the Youth Summer Camp, S.T.E.A.M. Summer Camp and the Multi-Sport Summer Camp.

The public is being notified that the VIDE/LERNBOOK payments for Public High Schools, is currently being collected at the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports located on the third floor of the Creque Building on Flemming and Main Street.

The Government of the Virgin Islands is having the Althea Scatliffe Primary School demolished following a report on the structural integrity of the building.
