Happy New Year! 

In bidding farewell to 2018 and welcoming 2019, I am filled with much emotion as I address you, my fellow Virgin Islanders, residents and friends, for the last time with me serving as Premier of the Virgin Islands. 

Mrs. Carolyn E. Stoutt Igwe had been confirmed in her appointment as the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Deputy Governor.

Hi, I am Alvera Maduro-Caines, representative for the Sixth Electoral District. What a difference a year makes! 

In 2017 the Virgin Islands experienced two of the worse natural disasters through two category five hurricanes Irma and Maria. 

I greet you my fellow residents of the Virgin Islands, in the spirit of the Christmas season.

We are in the holiday season and I want to thank every public officer for being amazing through 2018.
