Today, the Ministry of Health and Social Development is informing the public of the continued rise in cases in the current outbreak of the Delta variant of COVID-19 in the Territory. 

Today, the Ministry of Health and Social Development is informing the public that we are currently experiencing an increase of transmission of COVID-19 in the Territory associated with the Delta variant. 

Residents would have noticed a gradual increase in active cases over the last two months.  In particular, over the last two weeks cases have risen from an average of around 40 closer to 100 active cases.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development is urging the public to remain vigilant, adhere to COVID public health protocols and take all necessary precautions during this festive season.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development is encouraging the community to do its part to reduce vulnerability to Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR).

The Government of the Virgin Islands announced via the Official Virgin Islands Gazette on 16 November, that fully vaccinated arrivals in the Territory are no longer required to test for COVID-19 upon arrival.  Travellers would have to produce a negative result for a RT-PCR or approved rapid antigen SARS CoV-2 test taken no later than 48 hours before arrival in the Territory. 

The Ministry of Health and Social Development has confirmed that positive cases of COVID-19 attended the:

• Fish Fete on Saturday, 13^th November, 2021 held on the Festival Grounds
• Phi Theta Kappa Honour Society Induction Ceremony on Monday, 15^th November, 2021 at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College
