Chief Environmental Health Officer, Mr. Lionel Michael has said that the Environmental Health Division is on a mission to protect residents and visitors to the BVI from food borne illnesses through its food handler’s training programme.

Acting Chief Conservation and Fisheries Officer in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Labour, Mr. Kelvin Penn has confirmed that following the results of a completed study the Cane Garden Bay beach is re-opened for swimming and related recreational activities.

The public is advised that the Public Health Unit, the Environmental Health Division and the Department of Waste Management are re-locating to the first floor of the Road Town Senior’s Building, next door to the Red Cross Building in Tortola.

New and existing food handlers on Virgin Gorda are notified that a Food Handlers Clinic is scheduled for Wednesday, January 24 at the conference room of the Vanterpool Administration Building beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Food Handlers’ clinics are scheduled to resume on Virgin Gorda tomorrow December 20 and Wednesday, December 27. 

The Environmental Health Division is alerting food handlers on Jost Van Dyke, that a Food Handlers’ Clinic will be held on Friday, December 15 

The public is informed that fogging will continue in locality six today, December 12 and tomorrow, December 13 between 4:00 and 8:00 p.m. Areas to be fogged include Zion Hill, Little Apple Bay, Long Bay, Belmont Estate, Spy Glass Hill, Carrot Bay, Great Carrot Bay and Windy Hill.

Food handlers and prospective vendors in Great Harbour, Jost Van Dyke are urged to register for the upcoming 2017 Old Year’s Party. 

The community is being advised to take the necessary precautions to ensure that their water supply is safe for all uses including drinking, cooking, hand washing and bathing.

The Environmental Health Division is announcing the resumption of food handlers’ clinics for Anegada with the first clinic being held tomorrow, November 22.
