Employers, employees, legal practitioners and the public are notified that the Labour Arbitration Tribunal’s Hilary Term ends on Thursday, April 1.

Minister for Natural Resources, Labour and Immigration Honourable Vincent Wheatley has praised the Labour Arbitration Tribunal for its work in clearing the backlog of matters, some dating as far back as 2015.

Chairman of the Labour Arbitration Tribunal Mr. Jamal Smith said the tribunal now has an online presence on the Government of the Virgin Islands’ website and is more accessible to the public.

The Labour Arbitration Tribunal is inviting qualified persons to apply to be included on its Accredited Arbitrator Roster.

Mister Speaker, as the Minister for Natural Resources, Labour and Immigration, I have responsibility for the appointment of a Tribunal under the Labour Code, 2010 (No. 4 of 2010) as part of the mechanism for the settlement of labour disputes.

The Virgin Islands now has a Disciplinary Tribunal to regulate the professional practice, etiquette, conduct and discipline of legal practitioners.
