The first Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) was inserted at the Peebles Hospital as the BVI Health Service Authority continues to expand its services.

Today I recognise the start of Red Cross Week, an annual celebration of the BVI Red Cross and the work that they do in communities throughout the Territory.  

Dialysis patients at the BVI Health Services Authority will now benefit from the implementation of a Vascular Access Clinic.

Nurses play a vital role in our healthcare system and contribute significantly to the quality of life we enjoy here in the Virgin Islands.  Each year we recognize their expertise and dedication to improving the health of the population by joining the celebration of International Nurses Week.

Residents of the Virgin Islands are urged to do their part to prevent a measles outbreak following reports of a confirmed case of the virus on board a ship docked in St. Lucia.
