Entrepreneurs and job seekers throughout the Territory received insight into opportunities being offered in the Territory’s leading industry during a Financial Services Opportunities Expo.

On 18^th December 2017, BVI Finance in conjunction with the Government’s Committee to Revitalize Financial Services, initially made an announcement about mounting a Financial Services Opportunities Expo which is now set to take place on 22^nd March, 2018.

BVI Finance and other stakeholders will be hosting a Financial Services Opportunities Expo on March 22nd to match job seekers and entrepreneurs with industry professionals to help fill opportunities within the financial services sector.

The International Tax Authority (ITA) is informing all BVI Financial Institutions (BVIFIs) that the BVI Financial Account Reporting System (BVIFIs) is back online post hurricanes Irma and Maria.

Premier Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE held constructive discussions with UK parliamentarians on the BVI's recovery, Brexit and financial services in the margins of the Joint Ministerial Council on November 30. 

Speaking at a roundtable event hosted at BVI House London, Premier Dr. Hon. D. Orlando Smith, OBE has welcomed the tremendous support offered by the financial services industry in the wake of Hurricanes Irma and Maria. 

“Offshore financial centres like the British Virgin Islands complement midshore jurisdictions like Hong Kong and Singapore in facilitating globalization,” said BVI House Asia Director Elise Donovan during the Singapore Trustees Association (STA) conference on November 17, 2017.

“The BVI is the undisputed leader relative to its offshore peers,” said the head of the one of the world’s largest company formation specialists at the recently held China Offshore Summit in Shanghai 31^st to 2^nd November. 

Hong Kong–based BVI financial services industry professionals, Lions Club of Hong Kong IFC and Lions Club of Hong Kong Shouson Hill Charitable Foundation will host a fundraising event in support of the British Virgin Islands post-hurricane recovery efforts.
