Teachers, I am grateful to have this opportunity to join you all in some down time as we come together as a Ministry, but also as a community to acknowledge the hard work of educators throughout our Territory. Tonight we say thank you for all that you do.
Many of you have found your way to the teaching profession via varying routes. However, I have often heard many educators say that they have been inspired to teach because of the genuine curiosity and practicality of students, especially those that are in the early grades.
The administrators are advising parents and guardians of students attending the Elmore Stoutt High School that Easter break began Monday, March 30 and ends Friday, April 10.
I am pleased to be part of another first for the BVI: this Apprenticeship Programme and its related Youth VI Website. I am delighted that this Government through the Ministry of Education and Culture, in collaboration with our business community is giving some eighty five young men and women the opportunity to earn a living.
Minister for Education and Culture Honourable Myron V. Walwyn is informing the community of Virgin Gorda that he will hold office hours on the sister island on Tuesday, March 31 at the Vanterpool Administration Building from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Teachers from secondary schools in the Territory are participating in a five day training workshop to ensure the Territory’s future is secure in the area of Financial Services.

The principal and students of the Elmore Stoutt High School are inviting the public to their annual Sports Days on Thursday, March 26 and Friday, March 27 at the A.O. Shirley Recreational Grounds.
The Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) has retained its title as the secondary schools debate champions after defeating the Bregado Flax Educational Centre- Secondary Division.
The Ministry of Education and Culture is inviting the public to support and participate in this year’s education week activities from March 8- 13 to be held under the theme: “Education through Culture: A Virgin Islands Experience.”
The activities scheduled for the week are as follows:
