Director of Culture, Dr. Katherine Smith said the Department of Culture will be launching the book, "The 1949 Great March" with a special kind of pride and excitement on the 71st anniversary of the commemorative day.
‘Rhyme and Reason’, a masterclass for poets of page and stage was the first event to be hosted by the BVI Lit Fest in its Poetry Workshop which began on November 2.

I come to you on this occasion, to update you on the events which took place within our education system between Wednesday 27th October and Friday 29th of October.
On Wednesday, I received reports that a large percentage of the teachers stationed at the Elmore Stoutt Junior High School did not report for duty. As a result, school was canceled for the day.
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture will be administering the next sitting of SATs on Saturday, December 4, 2021.
The week commencing 17th October marks the start of Anti-bullying week in the Virgin Islands. Anti-bullying week is a time when school counsellors join others around the world to bring awareness to bullying of children and young people, and to highlight the need to stop it. This behavior occurs from adult to children and young persons as well as among peers. This year’s theme is, “One Kind Word”.

Minister for Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture, Dr. the Honourable Natalio Wheatley is reiterating the importance of developing a love for reading as the Territory gears up to observe ‘Reading is Fun Week’ from October 10 to 16.
