The Recovery and Development Agency (RDA) Board is inviting formal requests for proposals from suitable individuals or companies to provide communications expertise.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Natural Resources and Labour, Dr. the Honourable Kedrick Pickering and United Kingdom Overseas Territories Minister, Lord Ahmad held a bilateral meeting on 12 June in which they discussed preparations for the 2018 hurricane season, recovery of the British Virgin Islands and public registers of beneficial ownership.

Communications equipment was donated to the Department of Disaster Management (DDM) to help strengthen the emergency telecommunications system in the Territory.

The BVI Health Services Authority has established helplines at various health centres in response to the Cox Heath Fire.

Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Mr. Zebalon McLean has confirmed that the Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue Service (VIFRS) continue to make progress in extinguishing the fire at the Cox Heath Debris Site.

The public is reminded to nominate local businesses for the BVI Business Resilience Award. Only businesses that continued to provide products and services to the people of the Virgin Islands, especially in the face of adversity post hurricanes Irma and Maria will be eligible for this award.

Mr. Wesley Penn of Accurate Construction has been awarded a contract to repair nine homes, under the Government’s Housing Recovery Assistance Programme.
