The National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) has been de-activated; however, Virgin Islands residents should continue to use caution throughout the day as Tropical Storm Grace moves away from the area.

Good day and GOD's blessings to you all. Yesterday, I shared with you that there was a tropical system developing in the Virgin Islands. Today, I have been advised by the Department of Disaster Management team that this system has developed further and is now Tropical Storm Grace.

Good day to all. Since yesterday, as expected, the system we were following so closely has intensified and become Tropical Storm Grace.

Acting Director of the Department of Disaster Management (DDM),  Mr. Jasen Penn has said that the Virgin Islands should stay vigilant in its monitoring of conditions as the coming months are expected to bring continuous weather disturbances to the Atlantic basin.

For the second time in a week, I am bringing you a message about a weather system with the potential to impact the British Virgin Islands. For the moment, forecasters are calling this system Potential Tropical Cyclone Seven.

Many of you would have seen that forecasters in Antigua have issued a Tropical Alert regarding AL94, a weather disturbance that is expected to pass near the Virgin Islands tomorrow.

Good day to all in the Virgin Islands. As weather watchers will already know, there are currently two weather disturbances in the Atlantic that are showing the potential to develop into tropical storms. The first, which forecasters are calling AL94, was this morning located about 150 miles east of Barbados and is expected to pass near the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico tomorrow.

The Department of Disaster Management (DDM)’s  Acting Director Mr. Jasen Penn is urging all BVI residents to complete their seasonal preparedness activities as the region moves into the peak of the Atlantic Hurricane Season with two potential systems brewing in the Atlantic basin.
