The Ministry of Communications and Works is continuing its efforts in remedying the infrastructural damages caused by the Tropical Wave on August 7.

The Recovery Task Force led by the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Premier has been mobilised to lead the recovery process following the deactivation of the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC).

Ten officers from Her Majesty’s Customs and their regional counterparts are now certified trainers.

The National Emergency Operations Centre is advising the BVI community that the Acting Governor, Mrs. Rosalie Adams, in consultation with the Director of the Department of Disaster Management has deactivated the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC).

Travellers are advised that their passports must have a validity of six months or more when travelling to the United States mainland, the United States Virgin Islands and other countries.

Three technical drainage and landslide experts from Puerto Rico are on Tortola assessing the extent of damage caused by the recent tropical wave.

His Excellency the Governor John S. Duncan, OBE concluded his tenure in the Virgin Islands and departed the Territory on Monday, August 7.
