Thirty-one students have been inducted into the Technical/Vocational Education and Training Apprenticeship (TVET) Programme, a joint programme of the Ministry of Education and Culture and H. Lavity Stoutt Community College. The induction was held during an opening ceremony on Tuesday, September 8.

Ministers, Postmasters General and other high ranking officials from across the world will be converging in the Territory for the18th Annual Caribbean Postal Union (CPU) Conference.
The first cohort of participants in the Ministry of Education and Culture’s (MEC) Apprenticeship Programme is moving into its sixth month and additional training for new and old cohorts will be held through a workshop from September 14 to 18.
Over 70 persons from the private sector attended a disaster recovery workshop designed to bring about awareness of the need for businesses to focus on business continuity and recovery planning.

National Health Insurance (NHI) contributions will be shared between beneficiaries, employers and the Government in order to ensure that the entire population has access to healthcare services.
Acting Governor Mrs. V. Inez Archibald CBE, in accordance with Sections 97(1) and 97(2) of the Virgin Islands Constitution, has appointed Mr. Robin Smith as Commissioner of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force on the recommendation of the Police Service Commission and the advice of the Virgin Islands National Security Council.
