Premier Dr. Hon. D. Orlando Smith, OBE has concluded meetings with Political Leaders of the Overseas Territories (OTs) at the annual Pre-Joint Ministerial Council Meetings in the Turks & Caicos Islands. The BVI Premier joined other leaders from Anguilla, Bermuda, Cayman Islands,  Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Montserrat, Turks  and Caicos Islands with whom he discussed  plans for the annual Joint Ministerial Council (JMC) and key areas for engagement with the UK;  including implications of the United Kingdom’s (UK) departure from the European Union (EU).

Cabinet has approved the implementation of the British Virgin Islands (BVI) Visa Exemption Programme that will go into effect from Thursday, September 1.

His Excellency the Acting Governor, Mr. Robert Mathavious, on the advice of the Public Service Commission, has approved the acting appointment of Mrs. Carolyn Stoutt Igwe as Permanent Secretary in the Deputy Governor’s Office.

Her Majesty in accordance with section 36(2) (b) and (c) of the Virgin Islands Constitution Order 2007, has designated Mrs. Rosalie Adams to act in the Office of Deputy Governor for the period from August 8 to 31.

Senior citizens’ programmes will be closed in July and August to facilitate staff training and programme evaluations.
