The Government of the Virgin Islands is announcing that the Hotel Accommodation Tax will increase from seven to 10 percent, effective February 1, 2017.

All reporting British Virgin Islands Financial Institutions (BVIFIs) are advised that the BVI Financial Account Reporting System (BVIFARS) will not be available during the month of January 2017, as the system will be under maintenance.
The BVI recently co-chaired a European Union (EU) meeting on international tax cooperation between the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs) and the European Commission.
