Opposing team, St. Georges Secondary School are the winners in the Semi-final round of the 2024 Inter-Secondary School Debates. The school won over the proposition team Bregado Flax Educational Centre (BFEC) in the first debate on the moots: “The use of artificial intelligence dilutes the learning experience in the Virgin Islands” and “The Virgin Islands education system should separate Junior High School from Senior High School.” In the second debate, the proposition team Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) defeated the opposition Virgin Islands School of Technical Studies (VISTS). Both debates were heavily contested with the rebuttal scores determining the winners. The final round of the debates will take place on Wednesday March 13 with St. Georges Secondary facing ESHS on the moot: “All students exiting secondary school in the Virgin Islands should attain a technical qualification”.
