Registration continues for the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports’ Be YOUth Centre in anticipation for the opening of its first session in May.

A ceremony was recently held for the persons to view the centre and tour its amenities.

Director of Youth Affairs and Sports, Mrs. Brenda Lettsome-Tye explained that the centre has been long in coming since 2015 but due to several setbacks including disasters, it did not materialise.

Mrs. Lettsome-Tye noted that the success of the completion of the centre is due to many partnerships and volunteers.

She said, “Youth have played an integral part in the development of the centre to this point... [Also] In late 2020 to early 2021 we reached out to 19 local businesses, six of which are female led. I am humbled to say that every, single, business owner with whom I met to discuss our plans for the Be YOUth Centre not only came onboard, but offered encouragement and some gave so much more than we asked for.”

The centre will be open and accessible to registered persons between the ages of 15 to 29. Registration forms can be found on the department’s page on the Government’s website or by using the link https://bvi.gov.vg/sites/default/files/forms/youth_centre_form_fillable_updated.pdf

Additionally, for a fee of $10 a month, registered Be YOUth Centre users will be able to access the core services including:
