His Excellency the Governor August Jaspert is currently away from the Territory on duty travel to the Joint Ministerial Council Meeting in United Kingdom. He left the Territory yesterday.

The British Virgin Islands (BVI) were badly affected by hurricanes in 2017. Prior to the hurricanes, the only government system that operated independently of the telecoms operators was the VHF system that many security agencies and emergency services relied on as the primary means of communication.
The public is notified that the BVI Airports Authority (BVIAA) will be conducting its biennial emergency simulation exercise at the Terrence B. Lettsome International Airport today 29 November, 2018.

In August 2017, the Government of the Virgin Islands signed an agreement to collaborate with the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU) on the development of a National Information Communications and Technology (ICT) Policy and Implementation Plan.

The BVI Health Services Authority is raising awareness of the importance of Imagining and its role in the management of disease as it observes Radiology Awareness Week.
The biennial emergency simulation exercise will be conducted at the Auguste George Airport on Anegada and Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport on Beef Island in November and December.
