New Centenarian Mrs. Esmie Estene Turnbull-Stoutt is the first Virgin Islander to receive the Government’s newly enhanced Centenarian Grant of $10,000 having reached the age of 100.

The Virgin Islands will celebrate its senior citizens through the month of May in a series of events in observance of Senior Citizens Month.

The Government of the Virgin Islands (GoVI or “Government”), acting through the Ministry of Health and Social Development and Social Development Department is seeking professional services from locally qualified and reputable companies to supply transportation for the Social Development Department Senior Programs for a period of two years.

Seniors from the Carrot Bay Senior Programme are featured participating in a nature walk from Benjamin Romney park to the West End Community Centre on Monday, 7 October. The seniors were escorted by members of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF).

Seniors on Virgin Gorda are featured at their Golden Years Gathering hosted by the Social Development Department at the St. Mary’s Episcopal Church Hall on June 12.

Seniors from Anegada are featured as they were treated to a ‘Brush and Sip’ event at the Emile E. Dunlop Community Centre on Whit Monday, May 20.
